The Klarus A1 Pro is a compact and user-friendly linear flashlight in an 18650 format. It measures 160.5 mm in length and has a body diameter of 35 mm. This flashlight is equipped with a CREE XP-L2 LED capable of delivering 1,300 lumens in Turbo mode. The user interface offers 4 power levels: High mode at 1,300 lumens with a runtime of 3.2 hours, a peak beam intensity of 13,200 candelas, and a range of 230 m; a Medium mode at 200 lumens with a runtime of 8 hours, a peak beam intensity of 2,400 candelas, and a range of 100 m; a Low mode at 30 lumens with a runtime of 50 hours, a peak beam intensity of 640 candelas, and a maximum range of 50 m; as well as a strobe mode at 1,300 lumens.

The flashlight comes in a small cardboard box containing a charging cable, a spare O-ring, a lanyard, and a user manual. This flashlight features two distinct switches: a main switch and a strobe switch. The strobe switch allows for direct access to the strobe mode, while the main switch is used to turn the flashlight on and off and to change the available brightness levels. To turn the light on, simply press the main switch; to turn it off, simply press this switch again. Press the strobe switch to activate the strobe mode and press it again to deactivate it. When the light is on, a single click on the main switch is enough to change the current brightness level, cycling through the levels in the following order: High, Medium, and Low.

This light also features a mechanical lockout: simply unscrew the tail cap slightly to mechanically lock the interface and prevent the light from turning on accidentally, for example when being carried in a backpack or pocket. This light also has a battery capacity indicator, which lights up for 5 seconds when the light is turned on. If it glows blue, it means the remaining battery capacity is between 70% and 100%. If it glows red, it means the battery capacity is between 15% and 30%, while if it flashes red, it means the battery capacity is less than 15%. If the battery voltage drops below 2.7 volts, the light will automatically turn off to preserve battery life.

The flashlight is equipped with a Type-C charging interface, which allows you to charge the battery inside the flashlight without having to remove it, using a Type-C compliant cable. The charging indicator lights up red during charging and turns blue once charging is complete. The Klarus A1 is water-resistant to the IPX6 standard and withstands drops from a maximum height of 1 m. The body is made entirely of aluminum alloy. The bezel and the wick are particularly protruding to effectively protect the lens; under the head are deep heat dissipation fins, while the central part of the body features vertical grooves that facilitate grip. The tail cap is not flat, but the flashlight can still be used in a tail-stand position.
